Let's get physical.
Henry, who walked at 9 months, has always been very physically coordinated. Here he is doing a successful somersault. Note that he is wearing one red rain boot...definitely adding to the difficulty in the maneuver. He did not learn this in his run-around-and-make-mom-chase-you... I mean gymnastics class.
Not to be outdone, here is Drew trying to do a somersault on his 5 month b-day. (I was actually trying to tape his new trick "squealing" which you'll hear at the beginning of the clip...and he started squirming like he was going to crawl!) Am I in trouble?
Tea time anyone?
Also, along the "play with water" line of thinking, Henry has recently enjoyed playing with soap bubbles in the bathroom sink. Just add a little Dawn/Joy and you have bubbles galore!

Cabin Fever
I guess when you become a mother it is only a natural, self-less desire/prayer that you want your kids to be healthy...but I now realize there are definitely some selfish reasons to wanting them healthy too:
1. You don't want to be sick either.
2. You don't want to "miss" your activities because you can't expose other kids to your kids' germs.
3. You get bored in the house too!
Henry, Drew, & I have been sick since Friday...I think that as of yesterday our fevers are finally gone and so now we just have a little (o.k. a LOT) of congestion leftover. We've watched more t.v. than I thought I'd ever let my child watch in a year...and are eager to find some new things to do! Today, (since we're mostly better) we've played with play-dough, done about 5 puzzles, read a bunch of books, and messed with our hands (and sleeves) in pudding. I'm adding a Ideas for Wee Ones website to my links list which my friend Lindsay recommended, but if any of you have some fun, easy ideas for staying sane when you're kind of confined to your sick house, I'd love to hear some!

Resisting Naps on Thursdays...
Henry is either out growing his naps or I need to wear him out a little more in the mornings! Last week, he played quietly in his room during naptimes...which still gives me a break, but without the naps he becomes "slightly" grouchy around dinner time. :) I thought it was cute that on Thursday, after I went up to check on him for like the 5th time and said, "Henry, you need to lie down in your bed, it's naptime..." he came back with, "Mommy, it's not naptime, it's Thursday!" I guess I should be proud that he is learning his days of the week! :)

Our dinner routine
Recited from yet another Wiggles episode, here is Henry doing part of the "Wake up Jeff" skit. After this portion, Henry always says (as do the Wiggles), "Well don't fall asleep again, b/c we need you to point your fingers and do the twist..." but it would have made for an even longer video! We do this "skit" atleast 5 times at dinner each night with Henry, Mike and I rotating who falls asleep. So much for "dinner conversation"--I think Mike and I need a night out!
Today he read/recited the ENTIRE One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish story to me. He only skips a few words and phrases. I was truly amazed!
How 'bout those Giants?!
We cheered for the Giants this year in the Superbowl because we were invited to a Superbowl party AT the house of Kawika Mitchell (#55 linebacker for the NY Giants). He no longer lives in the house (obviously), but we did watch the game on his nice tv, and our friends (who bought the house from Mitchell) still have a nice stained glass type light over their pool table that says "The Mitchells" on it. Kinda fun, eh? :)
