And Henry turned five...

We celebrated Henry's fifth birthday back in mid-November...starting with Dunkin Donuts in the morning (a new Monahan tradition since they opened the DD down the street from us ON Henry's birthday last year)! We had a "Toy Story 3" party with 6 of his friends there, and we played a bunch of games and watched the movie on our projector downstairs with a small intermission for cupcakes and presents. It was super easy and super fun! I think out of all the games, (there were 5: Pin the Tail on Bullseye (Henry's idea), Which Toy is left behind? (remove one toy from box and have them guess), Claw relay with salad tongs and Easter eggs, Ring toss over the characters, and Defeat Zurg) they liked "Defeat Zurg" the best (basically they threw Easter eggs at Mike who was wearing a Zurg mask).
After the party we had a fun pizza party with my sister's fam, where we watched some/most of the movie again.
I think Henry has enjoyed being 5. He was worried that his voice was going to be different, and he didn't want it to, but since it pretty much sounds the same, he's pretty happy. He is a wonderful son, still loves to snuggle, and is very honest. He has the sweetest voice with Kyle, and he plays amazingly well and loves to laugh with Andrew. He can be very silly...especially when the conversation involves underwear and potty humor. He is an amazing artist...copying the Larry Boy (& other characters) from the "Veggie Tales Bonus Features" almost exactly as the artist explains it on the dvd. (He sometimes even talks while he draws, explaining what he's doing.) People always comment on how talented he is when they see a Larry Boy drawn for the first time!!! He LOVES Toy Story, which seems to have replaced Star Wars as his latest obsession. He loves school, thrives on routine, is happy most of the time and is just a really good kid. Henry, it is a joy to be your mama!! Keep up the snuggling! :)
