So somehow I was in charge of the Easter Egg hunt in our subdivision this year (I volunteered to start a "welcoming committee" & wah-lah, all of a sudden I had two weeks to stuff like 700 eggs! Many thanks to Kathryn, Timmy, Katie, & Sammy for helping stuff!) Anyway, because of our Tulsa trip & our upcoming Florida trip, I picked the 15th for the egg hunt...which happened to be a cold, wet, snowy Spring Break weekend! We actually pushed the hunt back one day b/c it really did snow here on the 15th, and we figured that even the die-hard egg hunters might not come out in the snow! The 16th wasn't a whole lot warmer, but atleast the rain held off until the hunt was done.

All in all, I was thrilled with the day, because my son had the time of his life. He wasn't too excited about picking up eggs (probably b/c while Mike was hiding all 700 of them he kept telling Henry not to touch them), but....he LOVED the Easter bunny. I'm not sure he's ever seen a "character" (except for a purple crayon at the Crayola store), but he wasn't afraid at all. He kept telling me, "Mom, I'd like to say hello to the Easter bunny." Even when we were standing in front of him. Henry watched as maybe 4 other interested kids interacted with the bunny and then headed home. He then had the bunny all to himself! He told the bunny that we were on a "big playground," sang the bunny his "ABC's" (while the bunny conducted), and reminded the bunny that "trains say chugga, chugga, choo choo!" It was really funny. I can't imagine what the bunny was thinking! Before the novelty of the bunny wore off, & after we had cleaned up, we went home, watching the bunny disappear behind the school.
