Cute hugs

The best thing about having two children, is watching them interract with each other...especially when it's nicely done. :) Here are some cute hugging pictures. After we took the one of Henry hugging Andrew, Henry wanted a picture of his "back" and therefore we asked Andrew to hug Henry. Henry was very pleased with the results. :)

On a side note, we got Skype and our webcam hooked up and working in our house. How fun it is to see people "live" as you talk to them. My mom did put on lipstick though today, "knowing" we were calling. LOL! :)

Another side note, the above sentence is the first time I've actually typed LOL...ever. I guess I'm slowly catching up to the times. :)

Last Day of School, The Arboretum, Permanent Marker & Memorial Day Camping!

On Thursday, Henry successfully completed his first year of Kids Day Inn. He had perfect attendance (minus the one day we missed for our CA trip) and made some friends from class. Here he is with his teachers.

Here are some pics from a trip to our Arboretum with Henry's friends (that he met in gymnastics LAST year)...we usually get the kids together once a week. Sara is the oldest (on the right), and lined up the kids in order of height. The four in the middle are within 6 months of each other, and then Andrew is the youngest, but it turned out that their height order also corresponded with their age order.
You'll see that Henry is becoming an avid climber. Andrew had fun climbing on their "worm sculpture."

Last week was gorgeous and we ate the majority of meals outside. Here are my boys sitting at the picnic table I rescued from some neighbor's trash.
While I was packing for our camping trip and the boys were supposedly napping, this happened:
After I said, "Oh, wow, what's on your face?" Henry said as plain as day "it's green permanent marker."
This Memorial Day we went camping with some friends. Here are some favorites from the weekend. We stayed in a treehouse (sorry it's a blurry pic) for two nights and our big mansion tent one night.

Santa Fe & Engagement

A couple of weeks ago we traveled to Santa Fe to celebrate the life of Mike's uncle Tommy. Many thanks to Matt (& Southwest Airlines) for the passes to get there for such a fast weekend! We LOVED seeing all of our family there--many thanks to Aunt Tess for planning it all! Because of our boys, we spent a LOT of time in the indoor swimming pool. Andrew would turn blue in like 5 minutes, but they would swim for as long as we let them! I'm sorry I don't have more pics of the "extended" family, but I was busier chasing kids around then taking pics I guess.

Along with the indoor pool, the hotel cart was a lot of fun. :)

We flew back from Santa Fe on Sunday night with tornado watches in the area. It was a bumpy ride with frequent lightning and we circled the airport for 45 min. before the pilot "went for the landing."

On other news, Mike's brother David proposed to Rachel!! We LOVE Rachel & can't wait for her to share the Monahan name!! :) Henry was sooo cute when we told him the news. Here was how it went:

me: "Henry, Uncle David is getting MARRIED!"

Henry: gasped in awe with a big smile (a new Henry trademark)

me: "Do you know who he's marrying?"

Henry: "Who?"

me: "Rachel!"

Henry: another gasp in awe w/smile

The next day at church Henry was "reading" Mike's business card and "reading" all of the family names on it. He got to Uncle David and then he said...AND Aunt Rachel!! :)
