So the first story I have to tell, takes place the day after Kyle was born. On Thurs., Feb. 11, my dad took Henry to school. Since his teacher knew that the baby was going to be born on Wed., she asked him if anything "special" had happened the day before. She said Henry's eyes lit up & he got this huge smile on his face and said, "Yes. I got Anakin Skywalker!!" (his FIRST Star Wars action figure) The teacher then asked, "Oh, wow. Did anything ELSE special happen yesterday?" To which Henry replied, "Yes! Andrew got Obi Wan Kenobi!" When she asked why they had received them, Henry finally replied, "Oh yeah, we got a baby brother!" I guess that's the priorities of a 4 yr. old boy. Along those lines, here are the big boys training Kyle in the ways of the light sabers. (Note that Kyle has the red light saber--the one used by the "dark" side of the Force.)
We have had a really smooth first month actually. This is entirely due to the fact that we had family here until last week, meals delivered every night since then, and we have an angel baby who sleeps a lot. Kyle basically wakes up once at night (I know!!) which means I am sleeping pretty well too. Last night he was in his crib at 9pm, woke up at 2, and then slept until 7am. Not to compare, but my other two were not like this at ALL!! We received a velcro swaddle wrap from the hospital, and now we're going to buy stock in the company that makes them. If you don't have one of these and you have a newborn (or are going to have a newborn), buy one!! :)
So it's been six hours since I started the post, the neighbors have gone, dinner has been delivered and eaten, and the kids have been put to bed. And although I have more pictures and stories to share, I think I'll save them for another day and head to bed myself.
