The Arrival of Kyle Patrick Monahan

As you've hopefully heard already, Kyle Patrick joined our family on 2/10/2010 at 8:58 am. Being my third c-section, it was all "as I expected" (although it was interesting to note that of the 10(?) people in the operating room all of them were women). He weighed a whopping 8 lb. 12 oz. and was 20" long. As of yesterday (5 days old), he had almost regained the 9 oz. he had lost in the hospital, so I guess you could say he's eating really well. (Ouch! :))
The boys are enjoying Kyle and think it's hilarious when he has a dirty diaper. Henry pushes his head up to Kyle's and whispers "It's o.k., it's o.k." every time he can. Andrew is sweet with him and is taking it all in -- he did notice that Kyle is sleeping in "his" baby crib (which he basically moved out of in July), and today was using "his" blanket.

I am doing really well, and have healed quickly...which means I'm to the point today where I can get down and play on the floor with the "big boys." My mom & dad (& sister & family) have been a HUGE help in the last week, and I'm so grateful they were able to be here!!

So here are a few more pics of the events of Feb. 10th.

We all went home on Feb. 13, 2010.

Baby Prep Part 2 & Star Wars Era

Mike encouraged me to write one more story about this pregnancy...
Last Friday, we had a special pizza/movie night with the kids. We rented "Up" from Redbox and ordered Pizza Hut. When I had called to order the pizza the phone line was busy so I just ordered it online. (Mike was picking it up on his way home from work.) After I had custom created our pizza twice and somehow it didn't appear it our "online cart" I decided that I might as well just order one of their Specialty pizzas, so I clicked half-Meat Lovers & half-Pepperoni Lovers, unselecting my "custom" choices (except for bacon). When Mike goes to pick it up, I guess the guy could hardly keep a straight face when he was reading the order: "Half-Meat Lovers, no pepperoni, ham, beef, or sausage...Half-Pepperoni Lovers, no pepperoni." Since Mike had no idea what I had ordered, he just replied, "Yeah, my wife is pregnant." :) So somehow we ended up with a bacon pizza (actually my favorite!). Here is our receipt:

Today Andrew and I had our "last" Mama-Drew-Drew day for a while. I teared up as I was reading him a book. He is such a good boy, and I guess adding a kid to the roost always shakes up the roost a little bit. Henry has already been showing some "emotional" adjustments as he has cried twice when dropping him off at his class...which is very much unlike him. The two of them continue to find excitement and adventure in Star Wars though...as they play (together nicely) with their light sabers constantly, and call each other Anakin and Obi-Wan. They also sing a nice rendition of the theme song...which I have on video, but probably won't get to post for a while! :)
